Sport for Families and Groups in the Dordogne
Whether you are a keen cyclist, runner, walker or canoer the Dordogne has plenty to offer with lots of sports activities like water skiing, kayaking or even scuba diving. Locally you can also find golf, horse riding and equestrian events, tennis and badminton, rugby and football.
We have a selection of bikes and helmets for most ages and maps of walks and cycle routes that you can start and finish from Chauffour.
Malcolm is a member of a a keen cycling club that leaves Riberac on a Sunday morning so just contact him for further details. He also has a couple of good quality bikes that he is happy to lend to fellow enthusiasts.
The River Dronne is less than 1km away so we are happy to drop you and the canoes at the river, which gives you access to the beautiful village of Aubeterre downstream. Alternatively we could drop you off further upstream at Brantome or Perigueux for you to canoe back to us.
Malcolm, being a keen cyclist and canoeist, is happy to join or organise events and day trips for you or any “bored teenagers” who'd like more of an excursion.
If you're looking for some excitement, maybe you would dare try the Mascaret with him – the tidal bore that occurs around March and September each year on the Gironde/Dordogne river.
Both of us are CRB cleared to work with children.
